My latest article in National Review is called “The Redhunters,” and it’s about John Earl Haynes and Harvey Klehr, America’s greatest historical counterintelligence agents — they are responsible for revelations about Alger Hiss, Julius Rosenberg, Ernest Hemingway, and many others. The article is something of a sequel to my story three years about their longtime editor at Yale University Press, Jonathan Brent.
