Andy Serkis, the man who played Gollum in the film version of The Lord of the Rings, takes on the role of Screwtape in a forthcoming full-length audio drama of The Screwtape Letters–a short and profound book that C.S. Lewis dedicated to his friend J.R.R. Tolkien. The new audio version is produced by Focus on the Family (teaser clip here).
A stage version of The Screwtape Letters, put on by the FPA Theatre Company, is now traveling the United States. Three years ago, when it was first getting off the ground in New York City, I wrote about it for NRO.
