If it’s the Tuesday before the Fourth of July, it must be time for a new thriller from Brad Thor. This year’s title is Foreign Influence–and this week, Brad is my NRO podcast victim.

I’ve enjoyed Brad’s fiction for a while now. In recent months, I’ve also come to appreciate his nonfiction. He recently reported on the capture of Taliban leader Mullah Omar. So far, this is an unconfirmed claim–a rumor floating around the interwebs. But Brad has his sources and he insists that it’s true. If he turns out to be correct, he will have broken one of the biggest news stories of the year, way before the mainstream media. Lord Byron: “‘Tis strange–but true; for truth is always strange/Stranger than fiction.”

One of the best ways to keep up with Brad is to follow him on Twitter.

Last year, Brad was kind enough to offer a blurb for The First Assassin. It will reappear on the back cover of the AmazonEncore edition.

Next week’s podcast: Laura Vanderkam on time management.
