The New York Times has started a Civil War blog called “Disunion.” My first contribution appeared last week, on the Civil War and the tea parties. For an addendum, see my post on The Corner.

Also, the Washington Examiner recently included me in its “3-minute interview” feature.

How did you get the interest in the topic?

I’ve been a Civil War buff since I was a kid as well as a fan of thrillers. When the idea for this story came to me — a story about a hit man who stalks President Lincoln at the start of the Civil War — “The First Assassin” became a book I had to write.

There’s about 2.5 more minutes where that came from.
