My profile of Heritage Foundation chief Ed Feulner, on the eve of his retirement, is in the new issue of National Review:

Lots of think tanks try to influence the behavior of senators; Jim DeMint was a senator who wanted to influence the behavior of Heritage, abandoning his seat as a Republican from South Carolina to succeed Feulner. When DeMint takes over, he’ll inherit the house that Feulner built — an organization with an annual budget of more than $80 million and a financial base of more than 600,000 donors, making Heritage arguably the single most important right-of-center research institution in the country, if not the world.
