My podcast with Larry Haas about his new book on Truman and Vandenberg is mostly about Vandenberg, because I’m that way when it comes to Michigan. Below is an image of a statue of the Republican senator who helped the GOP abandon isolationism and develop the early Cold War strategy of containment. It stands in downtown Grand Rapids, which was Vandenberg’s home.
